Review of AVAST! Professional by Anti-Virus-Review.Net:

Avast Professional provides decent protection from viruses but lacks many of the features of the top performers. The Avast! package doesn't seem as polished and hence we have ranked it in the bottom of the pack.

While Avast! was able to pick up on new web worms and provides effective email protection we found it missed quite a few trojans and malware viruses. There also some false positives in the results which bothered us. These omissions did-in the protection abilities of this software, it can't compete in the top performers with this kind of performance.

The user interface lacked much of the polish of a professional software package. We found inconsistences in the scanning results windows that made it hard to interpret the scan findings. The interface is not recommended and is confusing.

Installation was a breeze, we had no problems there.

Help was sparse it only had FAQs and guides on their website..

Summary:

Avast! is a bit rough around the edges and virus protection leaves things to be desired. We were most disturbed by the false positives we had received in our scans.
